Production

They operate one of only three LNG production projects in Australia: the Darwin LNG facility in the Northern Territory. The Darwin LNG plant converts gas from the Bayu-Undan field in the Timor Sea into liquefied natural gas for sale overseas. More than 350 LNG cargoes have been delivered since the plant was commissioned in early 2006. The Darwin LNG plan utilizes state-of-the-art engineering and environmental technology and, wherever possible, uses local and regional resources.

Discovered in 1995, the Bayu-Undan Field plays a vital role in ConocoPhillips’ Australian operations. Bayu-Undan is located offshore in the Timor Sea approximately 500 kilometres north west of Darwin within the Joint Petroleum Development Area.

Exploration Projects

Their exploration and development interests include the Caldita-Barossa discoveries located offshore Northern Territory; acreage in the Browse Basin offshore Western Australia; and acreage in the Canning Basin onshore Western Australia. They are also a joint venture participant in the Sunrise LNG Project.
